January 3, 2012 Welcome back to campus and Happy New Year. The new year brings news from our governor that our state revenue fell short of projections, triggering mid-year budget cuts. Unfortunately, the University of California will face another $100 million reduction. UC has already taken a $650 million hit this fiscal year and we’re requesting that this latest “trigger cut” be considered a one-time cut to our budget, and not a permanent one. UC President Mark Yudof has said that the University will employ temporary bridging strategies to cover the cut for this fiscal year.
