Jan B. Talbot, Professor of Chemical Engineering & Materials Science
Professor Talbot's research areas include electrophoretic deposition of phosphors in the processing of advanced materials, and chemical mechanical polishing. Robert W. Conn, Dean and Zable Professor of Engineering
Robert Conn is one of the nation's leading experts in plasma physics and fusion engineering. He is involved in plasma science research and leads a multi-million dollar research program at UC San Diego focused on applied plasma physics and technology, fusion energy, fusion reactor design, methods for semiconductor etching and deposition processes, plasma chemistry, and applied chemical physics. William H. Fenical, Professor of Oceanography
William Fenical research involves the isolation and identification of active chemical materials from marine plants and animals that may have potential pharmaceutical or agricultural uses. J. Andrew McCammon, Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry
Professor McCammon uses sophisticated computer models to examine how protein molecules function so that new enzymes and effective new drugs can be developed. He is an expert in the emerging fields of bioinformatics, computational chemistry and proteomics.
